The hallmark characteristic of a disciple of Jesus Christ is love for God and love
for other people both inside and outside of the faith. Real relationships
have to be practiced. It doesn’t come naturally for us to love God with
all of our hearts, souls, and minds or to love somebody else the same way we love
ourselves. There is a lot of distraction and sin in our lives. So, small
groups give us predictable and safe places to practice loving God and loving others.

Real Purpose is lived out inside and outside of the church building. In fact,
when you count the hours a person is at church versus the number of hours they are
in the world the scale leans heavily toward the time spent in the world. So,
our service teams are organized to go where the need is. Service teams are
structured to serve weekly (such as in our Sunday services) or seasonally (such
as for a specific ministry initiative). They also serve spontaneously (such
as for a kindness outreach project or for a fellow small group member) and peripherally
(such as for another Christian organization in town, in their neighborhoods, and
at their workplaces). They even serve overseas on short term missions’
trips!

Real life can only be lived after a person comes to understand what it is.
We help people understand what real life is on Sundays by bringing the Bible to
life through practical messages, worship, prayer, communion, and baptism.
Our goal on Sundays is to help people get it. It is our desire that people
of all ages at South Ridge gain a better understanding of God and His purposes so
that they can begin to apply that understanding to their every day lives in transformational
ways.
